Service Areas
Topics & Skills

Dar Al Consul is a visitor-experience and marketing-systems project for a heritage complex in East Jerusalem. The work is delivered as part of the GIZ Boost Palestine Tourism program via WideOyster, in the context of the UN-Habitat-linked Dar Al Consul complex.

The assignment focuses on turning a sensitive heritage site into a clearer, more engaging visitor environment without disconnecting the technology from the place. The system design connects visitor flow, interpretation, branding, content, operations, and installation constraints inside one practical implementation framework.

Role

Tourism & Marketing Technical Expert / Senior Consultant
January 2026-present

Scope

  • Technical specifications and installation concepts for digital signage, projectors, projection-mapping surfaces, touch-screen applications, and other visitor-facing multimedia tools.
  • Coordination between designers, engineers, suppliers, stakeholders, and implementation teams.
  • Alignment of visitor systems with site interpretation, visitor flow, branding, marketing use, content needs, and heritage-site constraints.
  • Implementation planning, technical interface review, installation follow-up, and quality review for on-site visitor systems.
  • Concept and integration support for a touch-screen digital guestbook built around a 3D olive-tree model, allowing visitors to leave a symbolic trace connected to the site experience.

Why it matters

Dar Al Consul stands in the Old City of Jerusalem as a layered civic and heritage complex. The project is not simply about adding screens to a restored building. It is about shaping a visitor journey where digital tools support interpretation, hospitality, marketing, and community-facing use while respecting the character and constraints of the site.

The work sits at the intersection of tourism development and digitalization: defining what each technology should do, where it belongs in the visitor journey, how it should be installed, and how it can support a stronger public experience for the complex over time.
