Topics & Skills

As part of WeWorld’s PONTE project, I worked as a sustainable and community-based tourism trainer, product developer, and mentor for women and youth in the West Bethlehem Cluster.

The assignment focused on practical vocational training for local economic resilience, combining tourism marketing, branding, hospitality, local tourism, and community-based tourism product development. The work was delivered in Al Jaba’a, Al Walaja, and Wadi Fukin, with field-based support for developing local tourism experiences connected to each village’s assets and community context.

According to the contract scope, the training covered Marketing & Branding for small businesses, including social media management, online selling, new market opportunities, and basic IT knowledge. It also covered Hospitality & Community-based Tourism, including reservation and booking management, booking platforms and websites, basic accounting, basic English for reception, tourism social media, and ways to valorize community attractions.

My role included developing the training agenda and materials, conducting multiple group training sessions, mentoring participants, and supporting community-based tour development for the participating villages. The field training component translated classroom learning into practical experience design, helping participants think through products, visitor flow, communication, pricing, and market readiness.

This project reflects my work in sustainable tourism development and capacity building: supporting communities with the practical skills, tools, and mentoring needed to turn local assets into visitor-ready tourism products.
