The realization of the “East Jerusalem Tourism Community Platform” project marks a significant stride in bolstering the East Jerusalem Tourism Development Program’s efforts to foster development and support services across the tourism industry’s diverse value chain. In alignment with the community-centric approach, the platform was strategically designed to engage and assist various stakeholders, spanning individual guides, SMEs, tour operators, unions, associations, and startups.
At the core of the initiative was the deployment of a community platform, serving as a dynamic digital hub. This platform facilitated online learning circles tailored to different sub-projects, topics, and interests. The social community platform encapsulated a comprehensive suite of features, including a social wall, private and public work and community groups, and discussions. An integrated learning management system within the community platform became the focal point for delivering specific support programs, such as the Tourism Storytelling and Photography Masterclass.
Additionally, the platform featured a job board and an event calendar, digitally organizing a series of Tourism Tech Talks. This multifaceted approach not only provided a space for knowledge exchange but also facilitated practical support initiatives. Through the platform, program beneficiaries, alongside other industry members and stakeholders, found connectivity with East Jerusalem Tourism Development Program personnel, program monitor staff, and a diverse array of local and international consultants associated with the program.
The success of the East Jerusalem Tourism Community Platform lies in its ability to digitally unite and empower diverse stakeholders. The platform served as a conduit for knowledge sharing, professional development, and networking, fostering a collaborative ecosystem that extended beyond geographical boundaries. This initiative exemplifies a strategic fusion of technology and community engagement, facilitating a robust and interconnected tourism landscape in East Jerusalem.
